Jee jalata hoon aur sochta hoon,
Raigan yeh hunar na jaye kahin.

Aao kuch dair ro hi lein Nasir,
Phir yeh darya utar na jaye kahin.

English Translation:

Let not the desire of love fade away,
Let you not slip away from my heart someday.

I saw you today after so long,
Let this day not just pass away in song.

Avoid the company of the sorrowful ones,
Lest your beauty may lose its suns.

I wish that you would come here again,
And never depart all over again.

I burn my heart and think with pain,
May this talent not go in vain.

Come, Nasir, let us weep for a while,
Before this river of tears runs dry once more.

The Emotional Depth of Nasir Kazmi’s Poetry

Nasir Kazmi’s poetry is a reflection of emotional pain wrapped in simplicity. He never uses complex metaphors or difficult vocabulary — instead, his words touch the core of your heart because they are real, raw, and deeply human.

This ghazal, especially the line —

— is an open invitation to embrace emotions. It reminds us that crying is not weakness, but a form of emotional healing.

🌙 : The Theme – Love, Separation, and Longing

The ghazal beautifully captures the pain of separation and the fear of losing love. Each couplet expresses a moment of vulnerability — where the poet tries to hold on to emotions before they fade away.

In the first verse, Nasir fears that the excitement of love may die, or the beloved may fade from memory.

In the second, he sees the beloved after a long time, afraid that the moment might vanish too quickly.

The final couplet ties everything together — crying becomes the only way to keep the love alive.

This makes the poem an eternal symbol of emotional honesty.
